Guide to Seldom Seen Animals
Animals out of the woodwork
Have you ever wondered about those odd little things that seem to happen to you when you least expect them? You’re all dressed and ready to go and your father can’t find the keys to the family car. You’re coloring a picture, you put the crayon down, and it’s gone. Who breaks the points off pencils? Ties knots in shoelaces? Turns the water off so tight you can’t turn it on? Someone or something does.
Introducing the Seldom Seen Animals, a group of strange and funny critters few people have ever seen and most people have never heard of. For example, there is the One Legged Bromoloid who runs at the speed of sound. In fact, he runs so fast he is constantly running out of sock. He’s the one responsible when your mom puts a pair of socks in the laundry and only gets one back. Then there’s the Big Bellied Blip and her pal, the Podunk Moocher, who raid refrigerators. The Dirty Kemp wipes her messy hands on clean towels and walks on cereal. There’s the Overgrown Ditto, the Iron Fisted Wonk and many more.
Now for the very first time, many Seldom Seen Animals have been collected and presented in this guide. Look them over and read and learn about them. It may help explain some of those curious things that sometimes happen to you.
Full of Wild Imagination
“When I first opened Guide to Seldom Seen Animals I was slightly skeptical about how it would appeal to children younger than myself. I thought at first that the existence of such creatures may frighten small children and make them afraid that the bumps in the night were caused by a fantastic monster that might take an interest in them when they got bored with their usual tasks. However, after reading a bit more I was quite content to know that the story, which is more of a silly encyclopedia, seemed jovial enough. The author realized my fears and repeatedly told the reader that none of the creatures would harm a human being, except through harmless practical jokes. With that out of the way I began to appreciate the fantastical descriptions of animals unseen to the human world.
“Though this idea has been visited upon by other authors, the descriptions and concepts of the creatures remain original and well thought out. Many authors have attempted this type of endeavor and been lost in the sea of unoriginal writings.
“In conclusion, this book will appeal to any child with an active imagination. I would recommend this book to any child with a wild imagination and a will to be read to, seeing as the lack of a real story may not hold younger children's attention span.”

Cool looking animalsĀ
“This book, The Guide to Seldom Seen Animals, is a really really cool book It tells you about animals that could be true or not true. I think this was an awesome book because I got to learn about don’t really exist.
“The animals in this book are very cool looking some of them mimic noises, eat sweet foods, and stole socks.
“One of them, called The Quicky, could run across to country in just one minute.
“The Over Grown Ditto sat in a bathtub. He liked to play toys in the tub. He liked to splash a lot in the water and make a big big mess. So always keep stuff to clean up when he is done, because he does not clean up after himself.
“A different one, called the Dirty Kemp, would like to get your nice clean clothes that you are wearing all dirty. She will get into stuff then rub her dirty hands all over you clothes. So wear not nice clothes and hide your nice clothes so you can put them on when you get to where you are going. She also puts her dirty hands on walls. My mom says we have a Dirty Kemp running around our house.
“Another one of these animals, my mom says is running around our house is The Big Bellied Blip, She says this because our sweets keep disappearing and that is the Big Bellied Blips favorite thing to eat.

Really really weird animals
“A Guide to Seldom Seen Animals is a book about really really weird animals. I will give you a little bit of my mind about them.
“I liked the Over Grown Ditto because it makes giant waves in the bathtub. I like to be like the Over Grown Ditto and take toys in the tub too.
“I like the one that has backward feet. She is called The Dirty Kemp. She puts her dirty hands all over stuff. I like her best because she has backward feet. She is kind of like me because I had to ware my shoes on the wrong feet because I was pigeon toed.
“I like the one who runs so fast he wares out his sock. The One Legged Bromoloid is his name. He takes socks from the dryer. He is going to give them back but he wares them out before he does.
“The Holey Moley eats holes in clothes. Jeans, socks, and sweaters are it’s favorite food. I don’t like this animal because he eats holes in my clothes so I can’t wear them. He even eats holes in my underwear.
“The Big Belly Blip likes to eat all of your treats when your not looking. My mom thinks we have one in our house because our treats are always disappearing. We need to scare her away so she stops eating my treats.
“I like this book. I think everybody should read this book. It is funny to me and I think it will be funny to you. Let me know what you think.”

The most creative book I have ever read
“Here is a short (really short) summary of the most creative book I have ever read:
“This was a very very fascinating book by Bob Frey I loved the creativity of the words and pictures I would definitely recommend this book for kids 4-20 (anyone who likes creativity). This was such a cute book my mom and little siblings loved it. My mom says the only down side is that now my little brothers and sisters blame everything on The Overgrown Ditto, The Dirty Kemp, The One Legged Bromoloid, or The Fast Fingered Fleck. If I was their age I would be doing the exact same thing wouldn’t you? I personally think everyone needs to read this book especially if they need a good laugh!!
“Thanks for reading and I hope you’ll take my advice and read the story. Good luck and great books to everyone.”

Ooey Goey Got My Homework!
“SUMMERY: This book is about the discoveries of Professor H. I. Blinkalot. Professor Blinkalot has been studying the Seldom Seen Animals for more than 25 years. These silly creatures are known for doing things like putting smudges on you brand new shoes or misplacing your parents’ car keys.
“RELATION: One day I was doing my homework (when I was in 3rd grade) and I left to go to the bathroom. When I got back and opened my notebook to resume my homework, the pages were glued together. Ooey Goey was at work!
“If I was a seldom seen animal I would be a Fast Fingered Fleck.
“REVIEW: All of the creatures in this book are very awesome! The thing that I loved about this book is that it gives you someone to blame (instead of blaming yourself). I thought that it was a very creative idea. Creatures' behavior, habitats and what they did was very funny. I loved the authors' bios at the end of the story. I wish that there will be a sequel to this book!”
